His first child Winnie was born in the early morning hours of July 23.
And now Jimmy Fallon, 38, has revealed that he and wife Nancy Juvonen, 46, used a surrogate to have her.
'My wife and I had been trying a while to have a baby,' Fallon told Savannah Guthrie during a Today show interview recorded on Thursday night. 'We tried a bunch of things – so we had a surrogate.'
The Late Night With Jimmy Fallon host also said most of his colleagues didn't know he was expecting until the announcement of the birth.
'We said, "We’re not going to tell anybody,"' Fallon said. 'It’d be just more fun if it’s just private between me and my wife. And then we get to introduce her to everybody.'
'When it happened we were shocked. ... Who do we tell? Who's going to be mad at us?"
He added, 'It's so emotional.'
The interview with the talk show host will air on Today next week.
