Croc attack in Goraj: Woman's body found

VADODARA: Two days after a crocodile dragged her away, the body of the woman was spotted by rescuers in Dev river on Friday morning. SwarupaParmar was attacked and pulled into the water by a crocodile in Goraj village on Wednesday when she was washing clothes on the river bank. Her body was found floating on the surface of the river at about 7.30 am following which it was fished out.

Locals and rescuers had almost given up hope of finding her body. But water level increased in Dev river after water was released from Dev Dam due to heavy rains on Thursday. "Water level in Dev river increased on Thursday evening and it seems to have brought the body to surface," said Rakesh Wadhvana of Crocodile Rescue Group (CRG). He was engaged in search operations along with locals, forest department and Vishal Thakur of Canine Group.
